The "Classic" bus was a re-designed model of the once famous "New Look" bus made by GM. GM made the Classic line from 1983 until 1987. In 1987, GM sold the Classic line to MCI (Motor Coach Industries). The models in the Sudbury Transit fleet are the models made under MCI. They featured the Detroit Diesel 6V71N engine and Allison V731 transmission. Buses in this series are now retired from service.
